Fatty Crabs @ Taman Seputeh, KL

Many did not know that crabs are actually good for heart due to low in calories and fat. So when a woman complained that having a big fest on crabs will be incredibly fattening, you can respond by saying,"I beg your pardon, that's not exactly correct!" Anyway, I'm sure a lot of my readers also did not know that there's a crab delivery service available in Klang Valley, not only through calls but you also can order through online from their website at www.FattyCrabs.com. How convenient! :D

Some might be confused this particular shop to the one in Taman Megah in PJ, so as for your reference, I've taken a photo outside of the one at Taman Seputeh, KL which has quite a big signage with their website on it. FattyCrabs have started their crab delivery service since September 2010. After having their customers request for them to set up a restaurant, a place where they can bring their family and friend to dine in. After some thoughts, the owner had decided to open up a restaurant at Taman Seputeh beside Federal Highway and opposite Volvo / Mid Valley.

I had never been to this restaurant before and we got lost for a while trying to look for the place. We didn't even realized that we passed the place once because from the outside, FattyCrabs doesn't look like any other typical seafood restaurant at all. It seems to be a cafe-like concept with clean looking interior where the customers can enjoy their tantalizing crab dishes. The seatings at the restaurant was not really a lot so it's better to always call them up for reservation if you are planning to dine in especially during weekends.

While waiting for the rest to arrive, small plates starter of fried anchovies were being served to us.

Kedondong (hog plum) juice with lemon is one of their highly recommended drink in FattyCrabs. Although the Kedondong juice is naturally sour but the assam boi and the lemon brings a very refreshing taste out of it. The more I drink, the greater my appetite for me to have my meal later on.

There's also fresh coconut for those who's craving for the sweetness of coconut juice.

This is the Golden Ginger Crabs filled with clean, refreshing light ginger taste to fresh crabs. Those who loves ginger taste will enjoy this to the last bit!

Next up is the Waterfall Crab. Cooked a clay pot with hearty broth, lots of coriander and glass noodles.

This is one of my favorite that night, the Mickey Mouse Crab that is filled with delicious creamy cheesy crabs. The name was inspired for the children who have fear of having crab and the name itself seems to be attracting more and more youngsters these days.

The deep fried man tao that we had in replaced of the plain white rice.

The Elephant Prawns cooked in a familiar Chinese-style soup and the thick gravy is also good for the deep fried man tao to dip into.

This is the Sea-salt Baked Dong Kwai Crabs. This came in the latest of all but the aroma makes this the highlights of the evening. It might be a little bit too salty for those who prefer their food to taste mild and try not to suck onto the crab shell or else you would have to rinse your mouth over and over again due to the saltiness.

Fong Bobo Fish we had is freshly steamed in a very typical Chinese style with ginger, coriander, red chili and a little oil for us to savor the smoothness of the fish meat.

This is the Ying Yang Broccoli which I had for the very first time because I normally had the Ying Yang  Kailan instead. This is a very good side dish to have along with the crabs.

Jealous Black Chicken, not because the Chicken is jealous of the crab but it's stir-fried chicken with bittergourd and black beans. The meaning jealous there implied to the bitterness of the bittergourd which also means the bitter expression of someone in Chinese lingo.

We had papayas for dessert of the scrumptious dinner...

The price for the crabs dish might be a little too pricey for me but I can't complain much as they serve us huge, fresh and meaty Sri Lankan crabs which weigh about 550 grammes each.

FattyCrabs conveniently located in Taman Seputeh, so for those who are going to Midvalley for shopping or leisure, why not drop by at FattyCrabs across the bridge along Federal Highway to indulge yourself with the savory crab dishes that can melts your heart away.
